Avaaz March in Rostock

digg:".$title."  reddit:Avaaz March in Rostock

Hi everyone,
On Saturday, June 2nd, Galit, Hannah and I will marching under the Avaaz banner at a massive global G8 demonstration in Rostock, Germany. In the eyes of the world's media, thousands of activist will be marching, each with a different message. We want to make sure that our message - G8 leader: Climate Action Now - is the loudest one there. That's why we're asking you - Avaaz supporters - to join us in Rostock.
At the moment the plan is pretty loose: assemble in Rostock, Germany at 12.30pm on Saturday, June 2nd. I will post more details as they come up. In the meantime, feel free to use the blog to share information!!!
Cheers!

Hi,

I just stumbled upon your site through the youtube feature, and commend and applaud you for what you do! Let's see to it that this time around, it will be the power of the people, not the people of power, that guides Planet Earth.

In this vein, I think it appropriate to state in no uncertain terms that, as the evidence clearly suggests, 9/11 was an inside job, at the bare minimum assisted by high ranking US insiders (such as Mr. Wolfowitz, btw), if not entirely fabricated. Considering the vast implications this as of yet widely suppressed truth has, especially on the western mediasphere, world politics and subsequent civil rights curtailment, it needs to be acknowledged in order to be able to conceive intellectually honest and thus effective strategies for lasting change beyond the superficial.

Say it isn't so.

Best wishes for Rostock and Heiligendamm! It is imperative the protests remain peaceful, so should someone pass you a Molotov Cocktail, pop some Soda in and chill!

I am pleased with the worldwide response to pollution, however I do not agree with proposed carbon tax, I suggest that it as little more than a money making scheme for those who suggest it, as it does not prevent countries from still producing pollution.
The whole "global warming" issue is full of flawed pseudo scientific suggestion.
Countries that allow manufacturing that produces pollution need to enforcedmanageable guidelines for manufacturers to follow in order to painlessly and at minimal cost, eliminate pollutive practices.

I just got sent the petition and signed it. The time is definitely right to get tangible action on climate change. An opportunity not to be missed!

You can read the full US document showing the obstructivism of the White House here. The sheer undiplomatic brutishness is truly inspiring:

I remember about 25 years ago raving on about climate change and everyone thought I was mad.
I know I am mad, but its funny to see that people are finally coming to terms with it.
the sad thing is that its too late.
I know thats a pessimistic attitude, but the reality is that even if Kyoto was ratified today, we are past the point of no return. The situation is so extreme that Kyoto is meaningless anyway and the US isnt even prepared to go that far.
Im afraid that for the last 25 years Ive just accepted the obvious fact that environmental catastrophe is unavoidable.
In fact it is an integral part of human destiny.
We need to make the environment collapse to be forced into the mindset that will enable us to evolve to next step of conscious development. That step will inclue an animistic perspective where we see the divinity inherent in creation.
That perspective is totally foreign to the mainstream and the alternate reality of materialism that people are clinging to has blinded them.
We, as a race, need to have the rug pulled out from under our feet. That is the only way we will wake up and smell the coffee.
I think the biggest problem I have with the green movement is that they share the materialistic attitude of the dominant culture.
They just thonk that getting the right catalytic converters, for example, will fix everything. Thats crap.
Anyway, in all seriousness, if you want to do something truley positive about the future then the really effective thing is to prepare for the imminent demise of Western Modernity and gear yourself up to meet the challanges of the upcoming apocalypse.
