Le Monde: La Commission de Bruxelles face à une pétition anti-OGM

Le Monde describes Avaaz's victory in mobilizing over 1 million Europeans for a GMO ban as an "innovation in participatory democracy in Europe." BBC: Petition calls for whaling moratorium to remain

The BBC: "I believe the people of the world's voices on protecting whales need to be heard. I certainly hear them today in front of the IWC meeting in Morocco," said Australia's Minister for the Environment as Avaaz unveiled a 1 million-strong petition against commercial whaling.
