"The tree of freedom can grow only on the blood of the defeated of defended" The 20% of defended will sleep forever, the defeateds sleeps in beds of defendeds, and the world had woke up when it was to late...

because they are not being listened to. No-one is proposing that we forget the Han Chinese in the Tibetan region - they will also have a say in the new Tibet. Peace (sorry this is such a long post - need to be more concise..)

forestation of roughly 1/2 of all Tibet's natural forests. Thank God China have promised to stop logging upstream.. I could go on... Douglas Chalmers, you need to wake up to the fact that Buddhist monks are in no way violent - they believe strongly in non-violent protest. You also need to realise that the Chinese government practices some fairly obvious propaganda - soldiers have been photographed carrying monks' robes over their arms - laughing about the shoot they had just taken. These are not internal affairs. These are affairs which stamp on individuals of the world. As other individuals of the world, we have to step up and do/say something about the injustices inflicted on our Tibetan Brothers and Sisters by the Chinese Government

ted to the 1960-62 Tibetan famine, seeing and estimated 340,000 Tibetan deaths. The beautiful Tibetan culture and people are have been slowly ground down - the Nang La pass is the only way out for many Tibetans - along which Chinese soldiers sniper refugees from Tibet to stop them escaping. Camps have been built miles away from any services or shops, and with no bus routes in walking distance for the nomadic people of Tibet to slowly die in. Their property and land all taken away because unluckily for them, they were living on resources that the Chinese Government has been extracting for it's economic development (which is a fantastic bi-product of these horrific events that we can't forget). The Yangtse floods of '90 were caused by defo

Exile sources estimate that 260,000 people died in prisons and labour camps between 1950 and 1984 The number of political prisoners (mainly PEACEFUL monks and nuns) is thought to have doubled between 1990 and 1994. There is no evidence that I have seen that things are improving, except that awareness of the situation is widening. the Indian government estimates that there are 3 nuclear missile sites and 300,000 troops stationed in Tibetan territory. China has admitted to dumping nuclear waste on the Tibetan plataux - one of these dumps is 20km squared near Lake Kokonor. The Chinese government is providing financial incetives for government official s to move to the "Tibet Autonomous Region" . The massive influx of Han Chinese contribu

This is utter garbage! China doesn't need to talk to a robed representative of the CIA. What he and his separatist clique are proposing has nothing to do with the rights of people in Tibet who are progressing quite well over the past couple of decades. * Understand that you DON'T have the right to interfere in the internal affairs of a sovereign foreign government. They have a right to enforce security measures as a response to the vicious riots in March in Lhasa. * What is worse, though, is that you all seem to approve of the violence and murder incited by rock-throwing Buddhist monks and the resultant riots in which dozens of Han ethnic minority people were murdered and many more attacked and threatened.

The Chinese authorities still have no respect for people or the rights of individuals - see Amnesty Int Human Rights for China: http://www.amnesty.org.uk/content.asp?CategoryID=1 0917 Medicine San Frontiers has been worked in China since 1988 and advocates to the Chinese government for affordable medicines including second-line drugs and fixed-dose-combination pills (FDCs). Althought recommended by the WHO, FDCs are are still not yet available in China. TB is also a major problem - they are still waiting for permission to begin an MDR-TB programme

When I visited China in 1998, I saw a man in his twenties say something to one of two friends as he walked past the guards outside the gate of Tianamen Tower. It wasn't loud, we couldn't hear it from six feet away, buy they immediately jumped on him & beat him up, kicking & jumping all over him including his face. right in front of us. He was a bloody pulpy mess and severely injured with multiple fractures and God only knows what other injuries when they dragged him off inside leaving a trail of blood. The people ran & my husband was convinced we would get the same and then be arrested as well if we tried to intervene. So much for the gate of Heavenly Peace! The Chinese authorities still have no respect for people or the rights of indiviual

Do you really understand China? Have any one of your been to China? Do you really understand Tibet? Isn't the only information source you have on Tibet is on some biased western TV programs? I urge you to read more and watch more from the other side and get a full picture. Stop being used by those traitor Tibetans. Otherwise, I, as a proud Chinese, suggest you to mind your own business first and stop messing around.
