Arab League: 24 hours to drop Syria
To the Secretary General and delegates to the Arab League:
As shocked citizens from across the region we stand with our brave Syrian brothers and sisters in their cry for democracy and justice and call on you to suspend Syria’s membership now. More than 4,700 people have been killed - over 270 of them children. It is time for the Arab League to sanction this regime and force President Assad to end his murderous brutality against the Syrian people.

In 24 hours, the Arab League will hold an emergency meeting to decide whether to eject Syria for its murderous crackdown on its own citizens. But shockingly, some leaders are blocking the move.
Syria’s suspension is critical to send a clear signal to Assad that his neighbours will not stand by while his forces crush civilians in his ruthless struggle to maintain power. Many countries in the Arab League and its Secretary General support the suspension, but Algeria, Yemen, Lebanon and Sudan are pushing to stop them. We can block this shameful opposition by ramping up pressure on the Arab League from citizens across the region demanding an end to Assad’s bloodbath.
Saturday’s emergency meeting is a chance to turn the tide in favor of the Syrian people’s brave clamour for democracy. Click below to sign the urgent petition to the Secretary General, Nabil al-Arabi, and delegates to the Arab League that Assad must go -- if we reach 50,000 signatures, we’ll deliver our message by dumping a sea of body bags on the doorstep of the Arab League.
