Burma needs our help

To the leaders of the Burmese regime:

We stand with the people of Burma in their desire for peace and national reconciliation. We urge you to immediately and unconditionally release all political prisoners and call an immediate ceasefire between the Burmese Army and armed ethnic groups.

Burma’s generals are destroying their country from the inside, locking up brave protesters in lice-filled dog-cages and violently repressing ethnic groups. But the people of Burma are fighting back -- risking their lives to sign a national petition calling for the release of all political prisoners and an immediate ceasefire. We can stand with them and show the generals that Burma's democracy movement has the support of the entire world behind it.

Democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi is trying to stave off civil war by pushing for negotiations with Burma's junta -- and the petition, started by her democracy party, is key to her campaign. A massive international movement supporting her call could be the tool she needs to finally win freedom for thousands of Burmese democracy activists and begin the transition to democracy.

Let’s join our voices across the world at this crucial moment and stand with Aung San Suu Kyi and the people of Burma.
