As global citizens concerned about the desperate situation in the Central African Republic, we call on you to support the rapid deployment of European peacekeeping reinforcements and emergency humanitarian assistance as soon as possible to CAR. Existing forces on the ground are inadequate to deal with the ongoing massacre, and support from the European Union is critical to prevent more atrocities against innocent civilians. We ask you not to repeat the mistakes of inaction in Rwanda and be the champions you have pledged to be to prevent another horror for humanity.

The forces fighting them are overmatched and France described CAR as being “on the verge of genocide.” But there’s hope -- the European Union’s top diplomat just proposed sending in peacekeeping forces, and if Europe acts now, it could mean the difference between stability and more slaughter.
