COPENHAGEN: ONE WORLD - REAL DEAL!
|
The Copenhagen climate summit is failing. Tomorrow, world leaders will arrive for an unprecedented 60 hours of direct negotiations. Three of them could have the power to drive through a Real Deal -- Brazil, South Africa, Europe. But they will only act if we give them a massive public mandate. Our global movement has been building towards this moment. Now we have just 4 days to create a big enough public outcry to stop catastrophic climate change. In the next 72 hours let's build the largest petition in history. Sign below, tell everyone about it, and Avaaz will deliver the petition directly to leaders inside the Copenhagen summit:
Petition to the 110 Presidents and Prime Ministers negotiating in Copenhagen:
We call on each one of you to work for a real deal, to keep us all safe from a catastrophic rise of more than 2 degrees in the earth's temperature. Your agreements must be fair, ambitious and binding. Rich countries should lead the way, with fair long-term financing so poorer countries also do their share, and all countries must accept deals with legal force and ambitious targets. Act now, decisively and together: the world wants a real deal in Copenhagen. |
This page is part of the massive joint petition of the TckTckTck campaign, a global alliance of more than 200 groups worldwide -- including Avaaz -- working for a fair, ambitious, and binding treaty in Copenhagen. 0
