You can use the following arguments, but the more personal your message will be the more effective it will end up being, and remember to be polite:
- The current text of the EU telecoms package threatens our freedom online, while undermining innovation
- As the leader of the UK delegation for the ALDE group, I urge you to do all you can to ensure all UK Liberal members support strong amendments that:
- Change or delete the current definition of "specialized service" (Article 2.15) as it increases costs to users, and could create a two-tiered Internet
- Do not allow Internet access providers to offer discriminatory services that will be expensive and confusing for the consumer
- Don’t let Internet companies interfere with online communications without a legal basis or a court order!
- Specifically I urge you to vote for amendments 234 and 246 during the plenary session on April 3rd
- With the EU elections round the corner, I count on you to show true leadership and help protect a free and democratic Internet
