G8 - Keep Your Word to the Poor!

Two years ago, the G8 pledged to double aid to Africa--but despite their promises, aid from the G8 has actually gone down, and 20,000 children every day are still dying preventable deaths.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu has signed on to a letter organised by Avaaz and our friends at the Global Call to Action Against Poverty. The letter was featured in big ads in the Financial Times and German press in the build up to the June 6th G8 Summit. The goal was to remind the G8 finance ministers of their promises. Their response was to pledge a further $60 billion to combat poverty. We cannot allow this pledge to become another broken promise. Please sign the letter to show how many of us want the rich world to keep its promises to the global poor!
