To Prime Minister Noda:

As citizens across Japan, we are outraged that the overwhelming public outcry against the nuclear restart fell on deaf ears. As a nation, we have not yet found answers to the real causes behind the Fukushima Daiichi meltdowns. Thousands still live as refugees and are unemployed, children are trapped in radiation zones, and fear of radiation has spread across the nation. The only way to ensure another Fukushima disaster never happens again is by phasing out of nuclear power for good. Please do the right thing and take immediate action to stop the nuclear restart.

Join the Hydrangea Revolution

This is the largest people-led movement our country has seen in half a century -- tens of thousands of us are taking to the streets to protest the government's reckless decision to restart nuclear reactors. But to win we need to ramp up the numbers and the heat on Prime Minister Noda through powerful social media.

Fukushima Daiichi was a preventable ‘man-made’ disaster, a result of shocking collusion between our government and the corrupt nuclear industry. But people responded with outrage and now the government has committed to a public consultation on Japan’s energy plan. If we now supercharge the street protests with hundreds of thousands of us joining the 'hydrangea revolution' online -- we will show Noda what the public wants and he will be forced to listen.

Sign the petition on the right to support the Hydrangea Revolution for a nuclear-free future and tell everyone, then help create a ‘Twitter Storm’ by typing ‘#hydrangea revolution’. When we reach 100,000 signers and tweets, Avaaz will deliver our call straight to the public consultation debates taking place on Japan’s new energy plan.
