End India’s Olympic Tragedy

To the Indian Minister of Home Affairs Chidambaram and DOW CEO Liveris:

Bhopal survivors have waited almost three decades for justice, detoxification of the site and full compensation. It’s time to end their struggle. Please give every support the Supreme Court cases, including strong submissions that include all the victims identified by the survivor groups based on research from the Indian Council of Medical Research.

End India’s Olympic Tragedy
A chemical leak in Bhopal, India killed 20,000 people, poisoned 500,000 and caused decades of disease and death. Now, the company responsible is rubbing salt in the victims’ wounds by using Olympic sponsorship to whitewash their image.

But London’s politicians are fighting back, voting to condemn Dow’s sponsorship, pushing this tragedy back into the headlines and giving us a chance to make Dow pay for this crime.

With just days to go before the Olympic Opening Ceremony, this is the best hope for justice in a generation. Together, let’s end Dow’s toxic tragedy -- sign the petition and forward this to everyone. When we reach 500,000 signers Avaaz will deliver our call for justice to Dow’s CEO and the Indian government which has the power to demand real damages from the corporation:
