A Call for Examining Alternative Revenue Tools for Metrolinx and the "Big Move"

My name is Adam Smith, I am a resident of the City of Toronto who has been closely watching the progress of Metrolinx and their Big Move. To pay for the myriad of transportation improvements in the GTHA there has been suggested a number of new taxes and user fees. All of these directly tax the bottom of the social chain, the average person, and will only serve to widen the gap between rich and poor. They have not looked at any taxes from the top of the chain, namely banks. Another option is to reinstate the Bank of Canada as a lending institution for infrastructure, as it was post WWII.
