Estos bosques pertenecen a un hábitat en peligro de extinción; el bosque de niebla que comprende solo el 2% del territorio nacional y 8% del territorio mundial.

Estos bosques son los principales capadores de agua de lluvia, y si los cortan lloverá menos y nos afectaran aun mas sequías. Contribuyendo al calentamiento global. Ademas en este lugar habitan mucha fauna y flora amenazada y que esta protegida por la ley.
