With every new release of OS X, Apple is cutting more and more computers from the list of compatible Macs, forcing the users to sell their still perfectly working Macs in order to buy new ones, compatible with the new OS. The users of the older versions of the OS are unable to use major features such as iCloud desktop integration, Gatekeeper, iMessages and many others. While this means new sales for Apple, it also means new expenses for the users supporting the company - some people just can not afford it. What's more - the resale value of the "unsupported" Macs drops on the used computer market.
