Stop U.S. Funding to Namibia via the MCC until the Namibian Fur Seal Slaughter is stopped.
Namibia is responsible for the largest slaughter of wildlife on earth. This barbaric cull is absolutely unnecessary ~ Cape Fur Seals are rapidly disappearing and dangerously close to extinction. In February, 2012 WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) co-hosted an event in Namibia to focus on eco-tourism ~ the Namibian Compact with the MCC (Millennium Challenge Corporation- U.S. Independent Foreign Aid Agency) was $305M.
As a U.S. citizen I implore our President & Secretary of State to carefully reconsider providing funds to a country that so blithely destroys its wildlife ~ the barbaric methods notwithstanding. To continue this funding, at the taxpayers expense, is unconscionable. Are we that removed from what is happening in the countries we fund via the MCC ~ where are the watchdogs ~ do we no longer care what is happening to our planet's wildlife, our ocean's life ~ WAKE UP WASHINGTON! We are Activists on the Front Lines and we are paying attention.
July 1st ~ 85,000 Baby Fur Seals will be separated from their mothers ~ stabbed and clubbed to death. 6,000 Bull Seals will be shot in the head for their penises, ineffective aphrodisiacs. $7.00 a pelt.
Time is short ~ PLEASE! Let our government know that WE ARE WATCHING & WE ARE VOTING ~.
BE THE VOICE FOR THESE SEALS ~ YOU ARE THEIR ONLY VOICE ~
