The leader of Lincolnshire County Council Martin Hill has pledged to fight the building of new wind farms in Lincolnshire. In his own words if the council did not "stand for what was right", no one else would.
Meanwhile MP for Lincoln, Karl McCartney supported this message: "I strongly feel that the Government should either freeze or decrease the number of wind farms planned for the UK, especially those sited on our green and pleasant land."
These bizarre declarations run in the face of climate science, with near 400ppm of carbon now in the atmosphere the need to scale back energy use and to source any energy used from clean, renewable sources has never been more vital. Runaway climate change is the alternative.
Sign this petition to urge the decision makers of Lincoln to treat climate change with the importance it requires. Support for renewable energy expansion being a key part of their duty towards this goal.
