As if Renan Calheiros’ election to Senate president wasn’t enough, tomorrow an MP known for racist and anti-gay views may be given the lead role on human rights in the Chamber of deputies. It’s crazy, but if we’re fast, we can stop this insult!
The vote for the chair of the Human Rights and Minorities Commission is in 24 hours. MPs want to instal Marco Feliciano, who’s said tonnes of outrageous things about black people and gay people. Since the Renan scandal some MPs are wary of a new scandal and worry that the Feliciano appointment would affect their reputations. Let’s use our people power and make sure they follow the public and vote Feliciano - NO!
We don’t have any time to waste. The media is starting to pick up on the campaign and we can win. Sign the petition -- if 100,000 people sign by tomorrow, we will deliver it straight to the decision makers:
