Global petition against Belo Monte dam in Amazon Rainforest

Why this is important

The complex of hydroelectric Belo Monte dam is being built on the Rio Xingu in Brazil's Amazon and will be the third largest dam in the world.
It must flood 500km ² of Rainforest and harm the indigenous populations in the surrounding area.

The natives of the Amazon and various NGOs have denounced this project but they have various petitions submitted to the Brazilian government has not worked.
It remains a hope, a WORLDWIDE movement, a single petition with millions of signatures from around the world.

If you have already signed other petitions, thank you sign this one to be a last hope of ending the ecological disaster in the heart lung of our planet.

This dam is the first in a series of sixty other major projects even on a total of 150 planned dams in Brazilian territory.

We can therefore suppose that the Brazilian government wants to raze the Amazon Rainforest in order to extract mineral resources, we must act now before it's too late.
