President Goodluck Jonathan
Nigeria’s children face an epidemic of death – a million kids die every year from easily preventable causes. Now this oil rich country could be about to provide the doctors and nurses it takes to give every child the chance of lifetime, and we have just days to make sure it happens. Nigeria’s health system is failing. But this isn’t a poor country -- it is the richest nation in Africa! Both houses of Parliament have passed a law to use some of its oil wealth on basic healthcare for everyone. But unless Goodluck Jonathan signs it by Friday, the bill will die. That’s exactly what happened when he had the same chance in 2011. Experts in Nigeria say it’s still too close to call if President Jonathan will agree to sign this time. The President faces an election battle early next year. If a million of us worldwide call on him to protect Nigeria’s children, we can create a national media shockwave and make healthcare for all a key election issue. Sign now and share with everyone to give hope to parents across Nigeria.
