It is essential that conscious ethical citizens who care realize that the species that profited from the atrocities of slavery and colonialism are capable of profiting from the extensive unsustainable damage to our environment, more correctly the web of life, of ecocide
The United Nations Environmental Programme has reported that humanity and the web of life are not on a sustainable path. The extensive damage of fish, forest, water, soil resources, to ocean and terrestrial ecosystems threaten our future. The government of Canada has a duty to protect Canadians from threats to national security, to out mental, physical, spiritual, environmental and economic well being. Was the mismanagement and or plundering of the cod criminal, ecocide
Was the British Petroleum toxic disaster in the Gulf of Mexico ecocide?
Is the toxic legacy in the Niger Delta due to petroleum corporation conduct ecocide ?
Is the human, ecological, toxic and carbon footprint of the corporate conduct in the tar sands ecocide? Politicians intend to let the corporations flood much of the devastated toxic areas as remediation.
Is the destruction of mountain ecosystems from coal mining ecocide?
Is the plundering of blue fin tuna, to sharks and whales in the Antarctic marine sanctuary for fraudulent scientific research ecocide?
Was the sabotage of the development of electric vehicles in California in 2000 ecocide?
Is the destruction of rainforests unsustainable, unethical, ecocide?
Is the destabilisation of our planet's climate with the associated ocean acidification ecocide?
Where we draw the line on those who are profiting from causing the extensive damage of the web of life, ecocide will determine how many people and how much of the web of life we rely on will survive. Those causing ecocide must be subject to criminal prosecution as their collective action threaten the well being of the web of life we rely on to survive.
