The social services department known as Child Protective Services is broken, and needs to be fixed.

Losing a loved one is one of the most distressing and sorrowing events a person can endure, whether by natural catastrophe, or by crazed lunatic, or by the hand of the state.

Every working day, a thousand children are taken from their parents, by the hand of the state—mine was one of them. The rationale on which this taking is based can be arbitrarily determined. My son was taken because I gave him vitamins, “cared too much” for him, and “criticized doctors,” among a multitude of other equally absurd allegations.

My son was brought to the brink of death in a prestigious hospital by dint of gross incompetence. CPS was called because I “voiced my opposition.” It was alleged that I had caused the very conditions that I complained about, by complaining about them. He became almost completely paralyzed for a year, and was unable to move his legs for four years. He was massively traumatized by the pain that he was arbitrarily forced to endure.

It took 573 days, and over $100,000 to get my son back, and have him treated by a qualified practitioner. As a result of the "treatment" enforced by CPS, he is now permanently disabled, disfigured, and in pain (to a degree), for the rest of his life. I can find no redress. There is absolutely no accountability for what was done.

My story is but one of hundreds of thousands. There is a river of tears and an ocean of sorrow that is generated by the existing policies and practices of CPS. Alienation, distrust, anguish and outrage do not this nation build. We are better than that! And smarter!
