Every year, untold millions of infant boys are mutilated by the surgical removal of functional, healthy genital tissue, the foreskin. This is often done by licensed doctors. The consequences of this unnecessary surgery are not trivial. It's a violation of individual rights and qualifies as grievous bodily harm. While it is not practical to pass laws against infant male circumcision it is both practical and possible for medical associations to enact sanctions against doctors who perform this operation on healthy baby boys.
