STOP THE ARBOUR FARMS GRAVEL PIT ON AIRPORT ROAD
Arbour Farms has submitted applications for the rezoning of "rurual agricultural" land to "industrial extraction" on Aiport Road in Mulmur, just south of County Road 21 (Foxy's Burgers).
This particular stretch on Airport Road is known and used by locals and cottage country folks alike. Your signature will help us build a public record of supporters who are against this project and have spoken out against it in the form of this petition.
The proposed gravel Pit WILL:
Require trucks entering and exiting the site off of AIRPORT ROAD, Monday to Friday from 7am to 7 pm (12 pm on Fridays) for the next 25 Years. That equates to a truck entering/lexiting every 3 and a half minutes.
Excavate 20 metres below the Water Table, creating potential for water pollution that will last longer after the digging has subsided and beyond the life expectancy of the gravel pit.
This may result in serious safety concerns, water pollution, and air pollution and will have an immediate and lasting negative effect on our rural quality of life, including the residents, the animals that reside in this rural area, as well as the commuters that pass by on their way up to cottage country, Collingwoood or Wasaga Beach. Unfortunately, as residents we have been kept in the dark and do not fully know at this juncture how this will affect our lives. Hence why we are speaking out for our safety and our children.
As a community, we believe it is in our best interest to receive full disclosure on all information, environmental impacts and development that will most certainly affect us. We are not anti-development. Rather, we are knowledgeable stakeholders eager to participate in the future of our communities, and actively seek our consultation on the above matter. Together, we can grow sustainably, promote environmental protection and prosper as a community. Lend your support!
