This young human rights activist has been sentenced to 1000 lashes and 10 years in jail for co-founding a now banned website called the Liberal Saudi Network. His lawyer has also been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Mr Badawi is to be flogged 50 lashes in public outside a mosquein Jeddah after Friday prayers over the next few months.
This is a barbaric violation of human rights and his treatment has been condemned by human rights groups including Amnesty International.
This is an extreme and Inhumane interpretation of Shariah Law and must be stopped. Let us join together to petition Saudi Arabia to stop this barbaric treatment for someone who has committed no crime other than exercise the right of free speech.
