We offer our support to RSF and its tireless organisers, and implore the Pyreneese Shire Council and all associated authorities to support Rainbow Serpent 2013.

Up to fourteen thousand people from around the country and the globe come to the Rainbow Serpent Festival every year to take part in a celebration of alternative lifestyle and culture.

The major issues of medical and fire safety are apparent and concern us all.
We appreciate that fire safety presents a significant issue to regional festivals and requires a great amount of coordination and planning to ensure the area and patrons are protected from fire.
Additionally, every festival of comparable size acknowledges that the harm caused by substance abuse must be avoided wherever possible and the Rainbow Community plays an important role in this as well.

We accept our responsibility in this, and the RSF community has always been incredibly supportive of the organisations and individuals who take are there for the protection of the event's patrons.

We, as a community, also recognise the utmost importance of rigorous safety and emergency plans, and ask Regional CFA and Ambulance Victoria to work with RSF to ensure that standards are met and these issues resolved without compromising the safety of patrons.

The community that RSF has built in its sixteen years, is a caring one that values the safety and well being of its members. In this way, Rainbow is more than a festival, it represents a way of life with an ethos of togetherness. It is the hallmark of the community that supports it.

We implore the Pyrenees Council to reconsider their refusal to grant RSF 2013 a POPE permit!
