Martin Foran A terminally-ill man has suffered a double miscarriage of justice.
Martin Foran, 70, an Irish father of five, was convicted of robbery in 1977 and Within weeks of his release in 1984 he was arrested again and later convicted of robbing a pub in Birmingham.
He successfully challenged the credibility of officers from the disbanded West Midlands Police Serious Crime Squad and won a second miscarriage of justice appeal over robberies he was mistakenly convicted of in the 1970s and 80s in October 2014.
The Court of Appeal overruled his 1978 conviction after a referral by the Criminal Case Review Commission (CCRC).
His conviction for a Birmingham pub robbery in 1984 was also quashed last year.
He has been refused compensation and has never received an apology for himself and his family.
