The National Assembly
Over the years, hundreds of people accused of one form of stealing or crime have been killed by the Nigerian public without clear evidence. Some of these victims were innocent. The killing has also extended to those accused of same-sex marriages. The recent act of jungle justice in Nigeria took place in the state of Port Harcourt on Friday 5th October, 2012 when four students (Ugonna, Ilyod, Tekana, Chidiaka) of the University of Port Harcourt were beaten to Coma and burnt to death by members of Aluu Community for allegedly stealing phones and laptops. It would also interest us to know that the accused students were not found with guns, knives or harmful object.

Signing this petition would help to bring this case to the Nigerian parliament on the need to pass laws to stop the public from taking laws into their hands and reports acts of stealing to the appropriate authority (the police).

I currently run my masters in peace and conflict studies at the European Peace University, Austria.
