To His Excellency, Omer Hassan Ahmed, the President of the Republic of Sudan.
A Sudanese woman, Amira Osman Hamed, is being persecuted for failing to comply with strict laws governing women's dress.
Amira faces a trial and possible flogging after being arrested for having her hair uncovered.
Headscarves have been compulsory for women in Sudan since an Islamist coup in 1989.
There is a growing tendency for governments to want to control women's dress through legislation.. .
Please sign the petition asking His Excellency, Omer Hassan Ahmed, the president of the Republic of Sudan, to show mercy for Amira Osman Hamid, and to rescind the law enforcing women to wear the hijab.
