United Nations , UN Inspection team for Syria

The chemical attack on Eastern Ghouta of Damascus Suburbs, started around 2:30 am Wednesday morning. It took the lives of hundreds of civilians according to preliminary reports from activists in several towns in the area. The death toll is very likely to rise as medical points are overwhelmed and severely understaffed and under-equipped as the area has been under tight siege for over 4 months now. The United Nations inspection team is located only a few kilometers away from these massacre sites.

The importance of this petition is to hold the United Nations (UN) responsible for delay of inspections for chemical weapons usage in Syria if they are unable to dispatch their inspection team in Damascus to the chemical massacre sites immediately. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon has called for access for the investigators but they can't go in without permission from the Assad regime, the same party that is accused of committing the crimes. It is the United Nation's responsibility to practice its influence and use any tools to apply pressure on the Syrian regime to allow an immediate launch of the investigation or else the UN team should withdraw and open way for more serious initiatives.
