Vermont State Legislature and Secretary of Administration: Create a Public Bank in Vermont

A publicly-owned bank in Vermont could yield over 2,500 jobs in the state, add almost $200 million to the Gross State Product and over $300 million in state output, and save the state close to $100 million in interest costs. By amending the statutory authority of the Vermont Economic Development Authority to permit it to engage in the business of banking, Vermont can create a public bank to help the State put its taxpayers' money to work building a resilient economy.
