Real Deal Photos, Audio and Video
Thanks for signing up to take photos or video at a World Wants A Real Deal event on December 12! Your participation is vital, as your images will be delivered to both world media and leaders at the Copenhagen negotiations.The most important thing to remember on the day is:
Please email photos to photos@avaaz.org, soundfiles to audio@avaaz.org. and post video at www.avaaz.org/upload immediately after your event!
Here are 6 easy tips for taking the best photos, video and audio:
- Take the essential group shot. Make sure everyone faces you holding the candles. Tell those that have banners or posters to hold them up at this point. You may have to shout clear instructions if it is a large group, but it is worth it to get a great image of the whole group.
- Close Ups:
If there are only a few people attending or if there are highlights of the vigil that you want to record -- take a few close up shots. The key is to get both a candle and a face. Kids are perfect.
- Sound:
a film is being made of the events and will thread together people speaking at vigils from around the world in many different languages -- so please record the reading and sound quality is key!
- Send images, sound and video in immediately!
Please work out before hand somewhere close to the event where you can upload and send on images as soon as possible.
- How much footage / how many stills to send? Just your best!
The editing team will be filtering thousands of messages from all over the world so please only send a few photos (choose your 5-10 best if you can!), and for footage please don't send more than 3 minutes.
- Describe your event
. To be able to use your images of footage it is essential that you put the city or town and the country where the event was held in the email subject line when you sent to photos@avaaz.org. Please then describe your event in the message -- a quick paragraph about the event will become the caption of the photo for international reporters and Avaaz members around the world to see.
Where to send photos, audio and video
Photos: email your photos to photos@avaaz.org. For high res photos and larger files please upload to www.avaaz.org/upload first..
Audio: email small audio files (less than 5mb) to audio@avaaz.org.
Video: upload video files to www.avaaz.org/upload, but please no more than 10 minutes or 250mb.
Once you have sent everything off, your contribution to this great day is done. The film will be up on the Avaaz website within a couple of days - so look out for it!
