Stop the deal before Monsanto uncorks the champagne!

To all the governments negotiating the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement:

As concerned global citizens, we call on you to make the TPP process transparent and accountable to all, and to reject any plans that limit our governments' power to regulate in the public interest. The TPP is a threat to democracy, undermining national sovereignty, workers' rights, environmental protections and Internet freedom. We urge you to reject this corporate takeover.

Stop the deal before Monsanto uncorks the champagne!

Twelve countries are rushing to agree a trade deal that could trash all of our rights to free internet and to label GM food. It would even allow cigarette companies to sue governments and overturn laws protecting our health. It’s almost too crazy to be true, and we’ve only got till the weekend to stop it.

This outrageous agreement would hand Monsanto and Co the keys to all our democracies on a silver platter. But the ultra secretive deal can only move forward if all countries agree, and three of them are wobbling. If we build a crescendo of global support in the next 48 hours for them to stay strong against big business lobbyists, we could scupper this corporate takeover.

Chile, New Zealand and Australia are our best chance. Politicians and citizens in the three countries are ramping up the pressure -- but unless we get behind them right now, we could be too late to save our democracies. Sign the urgent petition and share with everyone -- let's help stop this mega deal before Monsanto starts uncorking the champagne:
