Avaaz members in Singapore sent over 2000 emails to their own foreign minister George Yeo in two weeks, supporting his strong condemnation of the Burma/Myanmar junta and asking him to take more practical steps. They asked him to make it clear to Myanmar's military rulers that unless they enter into unconditional dialogue, they will no longer be welcome in Singapore. They mentioned the leverage which could be applied by talking about targeted visa bans, bank accounts and other measures. |
