Tibet is part of China. This is just a historical fact. So, stop trying to take China apart and respect a culture which may be different from the West. Things are never just Black and White. All of you who see China as evil and Tibet as good, have you looked beyond just the surface? You talk about human rights. What was Tibet before China? It was no free country. Dalai Lama is not a democratically voted religious head! What about the people who want to be free from Dalai Lama? Did they have a choice under the regime of Monastary? Have you asked people in Tibet, what do they want? A few young, violent monks smashing out Chinese stores, is this kind of boycotting you really wish in your mind?

It would help if you put pointers to some _independent info_ about how well the donations are utilized (% spent on fundraising/admin costs vs used for the cause). You guys are one of the few outlets available for helping Myanmar and that is fantastic but many donors are balking until they see some independent verification of how you use money. Unfortunately, good causes attract many inefficient or ineffective (or even fraudulent) orgs. So you can't blame donors for being careful.

Dear Avaaz Chicago City council may be ahead of you in taking a stand against attacking Iran. I am writing to suggest a campaign against an attack on Iran. All the elements for such a disastrous attack are now in place and I note that Common Dreams has an article by Scott Ritter (ex UN weapons Inspector. Ritter is appearing before Chica\go City council as they consider a stand against an attack on Iran. James
