This initiative undermines the basic right of freedom of speech and is a clear attempt to silence political opponents - especially Israeli-Arab MKs. Israel Beiteinu MKs behind this initiative declare that the goal is to prevent Arab MKs from criticizing the policies of the Israeli government. This is clearly another undemocratic attempt to silence freedom of speech and political opponents, the Arab minority in particular. This initiative will be taken to the cabinet legislative committee this Sunday (10.1), where the government will decide whether to support it. We have just 4 days to influence the committee.
