Civil society organisations and media representatives play an important and significant role in any developmental process. Their presence at UN high level meetings are very important and key to the success of such meetings. Therefore, we call on the Polish Government to swiftly investigate the unwholesome visa refusal and maltreatment by the Polish Embassy in Nigeria against CSOs and media representatives. In view of this humiliating experience at the Polish Embassy in Nigeria, we call on the Polish Government to:

1. Swift investigation by the UNFCCC secretariat and the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the reports of bias visa application treatment and disrespectful disposition of the staff of the Polish Embassy in Nigeria

2. Official apology by the Polish Government and immediate redress of the situation; and

3. Document commitment to improve relationship with civil society organisations and media representatives in the country going forward.
