The MSSA makes it public each and every time that they are the only body in South Africa that can give out provisional and national colours for esports. They are also the only body that can grant esports teams the privilege to use the South African flag in a match (which is against the law, any sports team may use the flag).

A fee issues about the organisation is listed below:

1. To join the organisation one must pay R500, any other previously disadvantaged individual (asian, indian, african, hispanic, latin or coloured) does not have to pay the fee.

2. If one has any dispute about suspected cheating or the outcome of a match result one must pay a non refundable amount of R500. This goes against the basic principle of any sport on this planet. If one is unwilling to pay R500 a sports team can effectively cheat their way to the top and the MSSA would be fine with it.

3. The previous president invented a new position for himself, that of general secretary. He now serves this role on the board.

4. The MSSA has no online league for which to compete for national colours. There is currently no information available anywhere on the internet about how to obtain national colours.

The final straw has come over the weekend where the current president of the MSSA has asked the public to give through questions and he will answer them. There were over 100 questions raised to the president of MSSA, herewith follows his response this is the only public statement since he has been elected:

"Hi gamers this is Simphiwe Maphumulo, MSSA President. I will answer a few questions that you have posted. I would like to thank all valid questions, these are appreciated but all those false allegations: remember that I have a full time career as an auditor, now imagine what my bosses would say if they read this? I must say that action will be taken against such comments.

I will answer them per person. Admiral Chief in Vegas : yes it is the end of February, so what do you mean by that? You have to understand that Colin and I are different in a sense that he has his own business and I am employed and studying at the same time, I am sure you understand. Gavin Mannion : The MSSA is a PRIVATE association not Public.

In order for any complaint or question to be entertained, one must go through proper protocol ie through a club chairman and only then the matter would be addressed at a meeting. You did ask for an interview and I told you that I was going to get back to you when I could.

Lastly, you are to speak to Mr Colin Webster because he is the general secretary (GS). During his reign he did not have a GS and that is why you dealt with him directly, things have changed. In terms of the question about previously disadvantaged individuals, yes they do not have to pay but it is not based on colour but on the individual circumstances faced.

These are the questions that I am willing to answer. I repeat that the MSSA will only attend to inquiries from members. This principle is simple, do you know of any Federation that would attend to you if you are not registered members? They would tell you to take a hike. Thanks."

Our viewpoint is that if a private body has the ability to award national and provincial colours, arrange test matches and send off gamers to respresent the country it is in the public interest how said organisation is run. The MSSA can no longer hide behind an iron curtain. One cannot find any information about the organisation on the internet as to why the fee is R500 for membership per year. Also the organisation refuses to answer any question about membership since they will only talk to members.

In conclusion we ask that Esports be taken away from the MSSA and that the DGL be appointed.
