Escom wants to put in 400KV lines between the Soutpansberg and Blouberg Mountains. Called the Barutse line it will stretch from Potgietersrus to Bokmakierie. We are fighting it. The vulture breeding colonies on Blouberg (868 pairs and Soutpansberg 173 pairs) will be affected by this. They say it is to enhance exiting usage. Who are they kidding, this is for the mines! We are not as stupid as you think we are Escom and Coal of Africa!!
