To President Obama: We'll take "No" for an answer!

The proposed Keystone XL pipeline would carry 500,000 barrels per day of Canadian tar sands bitumen from the Canadian border to the Gulf Coast. Construction of the pipeline requires the specific approval of President Barack Obama. He has not yet made his decision.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper insists that massive expansion of production from the Alberta tar sands is urgent, and that approval of the Keystone XL pipeline is a "no-brainer." Speaking in New York City in October, 2013, he warned President Obama: "I won't take 'No' for an answer!"
As North Americans concerned by the dangers of global warming, we are aware of both the real and symbolic effects of approving Keystone XL. We do not share the views of Prime Minister Harper. We urge President Obama to reject approval of Keystone XL.
We'll certainly take "No" for an answer.
