Suspended for saving baby bears

To BC Environment Minister Mary Polak:

As citizens concerned about the protection of wildlife we urge you to immediately reinstate Bryce Casavant. He should be recognized for his decision to protect two motherless bear cubs, not punished for it.

Suspended for saving baby bears
A BC conservation officer was just suspended for not killing 2 eight-week old bear cubs.

The bears’ mother was killed after raiding a trailer park freezer and when officer Bryce Casavant was ordered to kill her cubs he refused, saying they were still young and that they hadn’t gotten accustomed to getting food from humans.

Casavant may be suspended but we can help make sure his humanity doesn’t cost him a career. The government is investigating and if we build a nationwide call that the BC Environment Minister can’t ignore, we can get him reinstated. Sign now and we’ll organize a bear-all protest at her office.
