Election night: Anti-Trump Voters Converging on the White House, Armed with Song to React to Election Results

DC residents will join a flash choir in Lafayette Park accompanied by giant light installation to send message to new president

WHAT : In contrast to Trump voters who have threatened to take up arms if their candidate loses, these DC voters will be taking up song. On the night of November 8th, as the election result is announced, crowds of DC residents opposing Donald Trump will converge at the White House. The event has called on people, win or lose, to join a rousing musical statement rejecting the kind of bigotry that has dominated this year’s unprecedented election season. People will participate in a flash mob style sing-along led by DC choir groups. There will be a light installation with people holding up giant letters spelling out a message reacting to the result. As the event invitation states, because the outcome is still uncertain, this could be a moment of celebration or of mourning.
