Fighting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity and strengthening the Brazilian response to HIV

In the International Day of Fight Against HIV/AIDS Day, this petition is highly relevant. Growing homophobia and the increasing numbers of homophobic crimes in Brazil have evident impact on HIV/AIDS transmission and rates. These trends also imply persistent violations of human rights of LGBT Brazilian people. The petition requests the Brazilian government to take the necessary measures to achieve immediate reduction of human rights violations related to homophobia as well as to sustain, expand and better qualify the national response to HIV/AIDS.
